1. Scope and single purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how the Draft Rescue Local Chrome extension processes information when you use its draft-saving and recovery features.

Draft Rescue Local's single purpose is to protect text and supported form-field values that you enter on webpages by saving recoverable drafts locally and allowing you to restore them later.

2. Information processed by the extension

To identify a form field, save its draft, and restore it to the correct place, Draft Rescue Local may process and store the following information locally:

Because Draft Rescue Local saves the contents of form fields, the locally processed data can include information you choose to type into a form, including names, email addresses, personal messages, or other personal information. Draft Rescue Local does not require those categories of information for its own account system and does not send them to a developer-operated server.

3. Password fields and authentication information

Password-field saving is disabled by default. Draft Rescue Local does not save password-field drafts unless you explicitly enable the Save password fields setting.

If you enable that option, values entered into supported password fields may be stored locally in Chrome extension storage like other drafts. Password values are treated as sensitive in the extension interface.

If you later turn the password-field setting off, Draft Rescue Local removes previously stored password-field drafts from its extension storage.

Passwords and authentication information are sensitive. If you choose to enable password-field saving, consider the security of your device and browser profile, especially on shared computers.

4. How information is used

The information described above is used only to provide and operate Draft Rescue Local's user-facing draft-protection features, including:

Draft Rescue Local does not use saved form content for advertising, unrelated profiling, credit eligibility, or purposes unrelated to the extension's disclosed draft-saving and recovery purpose.

5. Local storage

Drafts, draft metadata, extension settings, review-state information, and local statistics are stored using Chrome extension storage associated with your browser profile.

Temporary workflow information may also be stored in Chrome session storage, for example when Draft Rescue Local needs to locate and focus a particular saved field after opening a page or the dashboard.

Draft Rescue Local does not operate a developer-controlled backend or cloud database for storing your drafts.

Local browser storage is protected by the security of your device and browser profile. A person with sufficient access to your device or browser profile may potentially access locally stored extension data.

6. Website access

Draft Rescue Local runs on webpages using http:// and https:// so it can protect form drafts wherever supported forms are used. This broad website access is necessary for the extension's single purpose.

On those pages, the extension may inspect supported form controls and the surrounding field metadata needed to recognize a field and restore its saved value. It also records limited page metadata, such as origin/domain, path, and title, so a saved draft can be associated with the page where it belongs.

Draft Rescue Local does not send webpage form content to a developer-operated data collection server.

7. Data retention and deletion

Draft Rescue Local performs periodic local cleanup. Saved draft records that have not been updated for approximately 30 days may be removed automatically. Short-lived tab-specific recovery records are removed sooner and may also be removed when the related tab is closed.

You can delete individual saved drafts, clear drafts for a site, or clear all saved drafts from the extension dashboard. Turning off password-field saving removes saved password-field drafts.

You may export a JSON backup before deleting data. Imported backups are written back to local extension storage when you explicitly choose to import them.

Data stored by the extension is also subject to Chrome's own extension-storage behavior, including what happens when the extension or browser profile is removed.

8. Data sharing, sale, advertising, and credit decisions

Draft Rescue Local does not sell saved drafts, form content, browsing/page metadata, or extension settings.

The extension does not automatically transfer this locally stored draft data to advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

User data is not used or transferred for advertising, unrelated purposes, or to determine eligibility for credit or lending.

9. Analytics and remote executable code

Draft Rescue Local does not include developer-operated analytics or telemetry that collects your draft content.

The extension does not load or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly as extension code. Executable extension code is packaged with the extension.

10. External links

Draft Rescue Local includes optional links that are opened only when you choose to use them:

Once you leave the extension and visit an external website, information processed by that website is governed by that website's own privacy policy and terms.

11. Security and user responsibility

Draft Rescue Local is designed to reduce accidental loss of form drafts, but no storage mechanism can guarantee recovery in every circumstance. Browser storage may be affected by browser-profile deletion, extension removal, storage clearing, device failure, or other events outside the extension's control.

For especially important or sensitive information, maintain appropriate backups and use the security protections available for your device and browser profile.

12. Children's privacy

Draft Rescue Local is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not designed to knowingly collect information from children through a developer-operated service. The extension does not operate an account system or developer-controlled database for saved drafts.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated when Draft Rescue Local's functionality or data practices change. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in an updated policy and, where required, in the extension's Chrome Web Store disclosures.
